Bridge Building Challenge

CLOSING DATE EXTENDED: Monday 6th December
The competition is open to any school in Orkney. Teams can have from 1 to 5 designers from S1-S3.
You and your team are working for Scotland’s top bridge design company BigginBrig and have been tasked with designing a new bridge to replace the outdated ferry at Corran using the free ‘Bridge Designer 2016’ software which you need to install.
The client (EMEC) is looking for a safe and cost-effective design and is willing to award a prizes to the team which submits the lowest cost design.
The client also wants an alternative design where the priority is the ‘look’ of the bridge, in its surroundings. For this competition, cost is not a factor, and the design which is considered the most aesthetically pleasing (and therefore most likely to get planning permission) will also be awarded.
