WORKSHOP: SINGING FOR HEALTH AND WELLBEING

September 6, 2025 → 2:00 pm ─ 4:30 pm
St Magnus Centre, Palace Road, Kirkwall

Join in an afternoon of singing with tutor Irene Watt, accompanied by her dementia-friendly choir.

She’s chosen songs on the theme of Sing for Unity – part of a worldwide campaign for choirs everywhere to sing songs of peace together on the United Nations International Day of Peace on 21 September. It’s an opportunity to sing together, open to everyone.

“Singing is a wonderful catalyst for improving health and wellbeing,” she says. “Come and learn how to sing in harmony and benefit from this joyous experience.”

The workshop includes tea/coffee and light refreshments and an opportunity to find out about the EMPOWER Dementia Network Plus, the FIND ME Dementia Mental Health project, and the MELODIC music therapy project.

The visit of the Mearns Singers is supported by Firstdrive Cars, Macphie, Rotech Subsea, Kettles of Dunkeld, the Rotary Club of Stonehaven, and Kincardine Rotary Club.

Numbers limited to 30: booking essential. Tickets £10 & £8.
