WALK: ORPHIR BAY CIRCULAR
Join Orkney wildlife guide Megan Taylor of Wild Orkney Walks on a coastal walk.
”One of my favourite walks on my local patch, this 2-3 mile circular walk follows a path along the Orphir coastline with views out over Scapa Flow and the islands. Discover the wildlife that you can find in a variety of habitats, including a small pocket of woodland. The walk is on a mixture of paths and quiet roads.”
2–3 hours, Easy, £30pp
It is possible to use the local bus service for this walk. Stagecoach service No 2 from Kirkwall to Houton can stop at the end of the Gyre road on request.
Megan’s aim with the Festival walks is to take you off the beaten track where you can see some different wildlife and enjoy Orkney scenery.
The maximum group size is 6 people. You are advised to have appropriate footwear for walking, ie walking boots as well as warm, waterproof clothing. Binoculars and camera are also advisable.
Booking is essential. Here is the booking link.
