WALK: BRODGAR WILDLIFE WALK
Join Orkney wildlife guide Megan Taylor of Wild Orkney Walks for a circular walk around the RSPB reserve at Brodgar. As the path meanders through the grasslands, we will keep an eye out for birds, mammals, insects and any remaining wildflowers. We will follow the shore of the Stenness Loch looking out for ducks and swans, before veering inland with views over to the Harray Loch and return to the car park via the Ring of Brodgar.
NB It is possible to use the local bus service for this walk, Stagecoach service X1 between Kirkwall and Stromness can stop at the Brodgar road end on request.

Megan’s aim with the Festival walks is to take you off the beaten track where you can see some different wildlife and enjoy Orkney scenery.
The maximum group size is 6 people. You are advised to have appropriate footwear for walking, ie walking boots or wellies and warm, waterproof clothing. Binoculars and camera are advisable and please bring a drink/snack with you.
NB Walks will only be postponed if the forecast weather will create dangerous conditions for walking. Otherwise, all walks will go ahead as normal.
