Arcadia Park, Kirkwall

… and shrubs, wildflowers, wildlife and more. Come for a tour with Paul Green who designed the community park and Bob Mackenzie who came up with the original idea. You’ll see the extent of the transformation of the land and of plant growth, and the signs of natural soil restoration.

You’ll also be able to see the results of all the community planting efforts, and make your own contribution by planting two trees which will be provided. The cost of these trees is included in the £10 ticket.

Numbers limited to 25, booking essential. Enter from the small car park in Scapa Crescent.

The development of the park has been covered by a series of stories in The Orkney News. You can find out more in advance about creating a wildflower meadow of your own from this article in Frontiers magazine.

Tickets can be booked through this LINK.
