Work continues through the Birsay Heritage Trust to preserve the World War II Royal Naval Air Station HMS Tern in Birsay. William Shearer, chair of the Trust’s HMS Tern subcommittee tells Howie Firth how he got involved in the preservation work and how plans are progressing for the future, and also some of the story of his own family’s business, now into its fifth generation.
