Youngeens fae the primary schools in North Ronaldsay and Papay have been working together to explore and celebrate their island culture. Exploring both land and sea, on foot and tall ship (the Swan), the pupils have worked with local musicians (Jen Austin and Eric Linklater) in order to be able to share their exploration more widely. They will describe their adventures through a combination of video, presentation and live performance.

This session will also serve to highlight the unique learning experiences that small island schools are able to provide – embracing the great outdoors and following individual interests. We hope that you will come along to hear stories of island school life, where the sound of the sea is never far away and every day brings something new to see and learn about.

This project is kindly supported by the North Isles Landscape Partnership Scheme.
