George McPhee has been Paisley Abbey’s organist and Director of Music for 60 years, and for quite a few of them has been providing music for Science Festival concerts on Sunday evenings. To mark the occasion, he plays works from some of the great organ composers – Sweelinck and Samuel Scheidt, Scheidemann and Reincken, Buxtehude and Bach. He is joined by the Mayfield Singers for several of the works, including two of his own – A Celtic Prayer, and the title piece from a poem of John Milton. Flautist Ewan Robertson narrates.
