KIRKWALL CITY PIPE BAND

September 5 → 7:00 pm7:30 pm
Broad Street, Kirkwall

Kirkwall City Pipe Band hold their final parade of the season on Broad Street.

The band was formed on 23 November 1919, to parade through the streets of Kirkwall to commemorate the Armistice of 1918. For that first parade they wore civilian clothes, and they then developed the uniform of Mackenzie Seaforth tartan which they wear today. In all the band has around 70 pipers and drummers, with members ranging from their teens to their 70s. They give their time generously to many local events and the sight and sound of the band is something to look forward to.
