We’ve got a day packed full of activity for the whole family to enjoy!

We’re delighted to say that the planetarium is coming back to the Family Day, with other activities experiences including the sights and sounds of an underwater world of seagrass meadows and ocean forests. There are journeys in virtual reality and activities including seaweed pressing.

You can learn to build medicinal molecules with Lego, and create working electronic circuits. You can find out how insulation works for energy efficiency, and how to make a bat bookmark. There is astronomy and birds and plants; and 3D printing with ocean plastic, turning waste into something you can keep.

And you can meet the robots!

You can choose your visiting time. There are morning tickets for the session from 10.00 to 12.30; or afternoon tickets for the session from 1.00 to 3.30 pm.

Ticket prices are £9 & 6 with planetarium, or £7 & 5 without.

With the tickets that include the planetarium there is a choice of three different shows.

– 10.15 am: You Are Here – a journey across the Solar System and beyond, stopping off to meet some legendary space missions along the way, including Apollo 8, Cassini and Voyager.

– 11 am: What’s Up – an ever-changing look into the night sky, following the seasons and keeping up to date with recent space news.

– 11.45 am: You Are Here – a journey across the Solar System and beyond, stopping off to meet some legendary space missions along the way, including Apollo 8, Cassini and Voyager.

– 1.15 pm: What’s Up – an ever-changing look into the night sky, following the seasons and keeping up to date with recent space news.

– 2.00 pm: You Are Here – a journey across the Solar System and beyond, stopping off to meet some legendary space missions along the way, including Apollo 8, Cassini and Voyager.

– 2.45 pm: What’s Up – an ever-changing look into the night sky, following the seasons and keeping up to date with recent space news.
