CHARLOTTE ROWAN IN CONCERT

September 12 → 7:30 pm9:30 pm

King Street Halls, Kirkwall

Violinist Charlotte Rowan is regarded as one of Britain’s leading violin virtuosos and has gained recognition for her dazzling virtuosity and gripping communicative power. Accompanied by Charlotte Stevenson on the piano, her concert will chart a fascinating lineage of the violinistic genre and follow a trail of composers through centuries and continents.

The programme will include Grieg’s Violin Sonata No. 3, Vitali’s Chaconne, Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy, works by Wieniawski, Dohnanyi and Debussy and feature a trilogy of pieces about The Sun to reflect the theme of this year’s Festival.

Charlotte Rowan will join Orkney violin maker Colin Tulloch for his violin making workshop tomorrow morning at 11 am.
