The Grimond Lecture

Islands across Europe and worldwide face big challenges, in employment, energy, and the environment. But, says Brendan Devlin, energy adviser to the European Commission, these very challenges can stimulate innovative solutions that can propel islands to the forefront of opportunity. Christoforos Perakis of the Greek national renewable energy centre CRES joins him to illustrate.
In association with the European Small Islands Federation

The Grimond Lecture is held annually to commemorate the way in which the late Lord and Lady Grimond encouraged the spread of new ideas within Orkney and more widely. Each year the Festival invites a speaker to give a talk on a theme which opens up a fresh perspective on some aspect of science and society.
